        Invisalign in Markham

If you're already self-conscious about your smile, traditional braces that may attract more attention to your teeth may have held you back from improving your smile… that is until now!

Markham Dental Solutions is pleased to offer Invisalign as an alternative to traditional braces. Invisalign is a series of custom-fitted, removable trays that progressively straighten, align, and improve your smile. The Invisalign aligners are made of clear plastic and are therefore virtually unnoticeable to those around you.

Although the most common use of Invisalign is to straighten teeth, it can fix a few other issues such as reducing gaps between teeth, crowding, overbites, and crossbites.

        Benefits of Invisalign

        • Removable: These aligner trays can be removed when you eat so food won't get stuck in them as they do with traditional braces (however, keep in mind that aligners must be worn for 18-22 hours per day).
        • Easy to care for: You can brush and floss your teeth as normal.
        • Sometimes faster results: Invisalign treatments typically take about 1 year depending on your case, while braces can take between 2-4 years.
        • Comfortable: Invisalign aligners are made custom-fit and apply controlled pressure gradually, so they are less painful than braces. They're also less likely to cut and scrape the inside of your mouth like braces do.

How to care for your Invisalign

        • Brush your Invisalign with a soft-bristled toothbrush (not the one you use to brush your teeth daily) and a gentle, clear liquid soap to remove any debris or food particles.
        • Avoid foods and drinks that stain or remove your Invisalign trays when drinking coffee, wine, and tea or when eating heavily coloured food. Rinse your Invisalign with water every night.
        • Store Invisalign aligners in a protective case whenever they're not in use.
        • Brush and floss regularly, at least twice a day before putting Invisalign trays back in your mouth.
